Weidong Zhang, PhD, MBA
As Vice President, Biometrics at Marengo Therapeutics, Weidong joins Marengo with over 20 years’ experience industry experience in all phases of clinical development in oncology (solid and blood tumors), autoimmune diseases including atopic dermatitis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and rare genetic disorders including Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Most recently, he was Vice President, Head of Biometrics and a member of Development Leadership Team at Sana Biotechnology. Prior to Sana, Weidong served as Vice President, Head of Biostatistics and Programming and a member of Clinical Leadership Team at Jounce Therapeutics. He also held prior roles of Senior Director of Biostatistics at Pfizer, Principal Research Investigator, Statistics in Translational Oncology with Sanofi, and Head of Biostatistics at The Jackson Laboratory.
Weidong has been actively involved in and made leading contributions to many statistical professional associations and other societies such as American Statistical Association and Drug Information Agency, serving as conference organizers and educational course/workshop faculties. He has more than two dozen scientific publications in book chapters and in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals on the latest statistical methodology development including adaptive designs, Bayesian designs, dose finding, strategy of using external controls, and use of real-world data/real-world evidence for oncology drug approvals.
Weidong holds a PhD in Statistical Genetics and a Master’s degree in Statistics from University of Wisconsin-Madison; a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree, both in Animal Genetics, from China Agricultural University, and most recently an MBA from University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
